Cuelift
Cuelift Privacy Policy
Effective 20 October 2026
On this page
This Privacy Policy explains how Cuelift (the "app") handles information. The app is published by Mobixify LTD ("Mobixify", "we", "us"), a company registered in England and Wales with company number 16138122 and its registered office at 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom. We are the controller of the personal data described here under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, and under the EU GDPR where it applies to you.
The short version
- You do not need an account. The app never asks for your name, e-mail address or phone number.
- The app has no analytics, advertising, tracking or crash-reporting service, and it does not use your device's advertising identifier.
- Your scripts, recordings, camera, microphone and photos are used on your device. We do not receive them.
- Purchases are handled by Apple or Google, and by RevenueCat, which receives an anonymous app user ID and your purchase status.
- You can ask us about your data at any time at info@mobixify.com.
Information that stays on your device
The app works on your device and keeps its data there.
- Scripts and settings. The scripts you write or import, and your prompter settings such as speed, size, colours and mirroring, are stored in the app's private storage.
- Camera and microphone. When you record, the app uses the camera and microphone to capture video and sound. Recordings are made on your device and saved to the app's takes list and, unless you turn this off in Settings, to your photo library.
- Photos. The app asks for permission to add your recordings to your photo library. It does not read your photo library.
- Files. When you import a text or Word file, you choose it with the system file picker, and the app reads only that file, on your device.
- Clipboard. When you tap Paste, the app reads the text on your clipboard and puts it in your script. It does not read the clipboard at any other time.
- Notifications. If you start the yearly free trial and allow notifications, the app schedules a reminder on your device two days before the trial ends. Your device creates and shows the reminder. The app does not use a push notification service and sends no push notifications.
Every permission is optional and you can change it at any time in your device settings. Without camera or microphone access you can still write scripts and read them in the prompter.
Your videos stay on your device unless you choose to share them. When you share a video, you use your device's share sheet and the app you pick receives the file under its own privacy policy. We never receive it. If you use a device backup such as iCloud Backup, it may include the app's data; that backup is yours and we cannot access it.
Information we do not collect
We do not collect your name, e-mail address, phone number, location or contacts, and we do not collect your device's advertising identifier. The app contains no analytics, advertising, attribution or crash-reporting service, so we hold no data about how you use the app beyond the purchase and technical information described below. The app does not track you across apps or websites of other companies and does not show the App Tracking Transparency prompt.
If you have chosen in your device settings to share diagnostics with app developers, Apple or Google may give us aggregated crash and usage statistics through their developer tools. The operating system produces them, not code in the app, and they do not identify you to us.
Purchases and RevenueCat
The app is free to start. Pro features can be bought as a monthly or yearly subscription, which may begin with a free trial, or as a one-time lifetime purchase.
- Apple and Google. Payments are processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play) under their own terms and privacy policies. We never see your card or payment details. See the Apple Privacy Policy and the Google Privacy Policy.
- RevenueCat. We use RevenueCat (RevenueCat, Inc.) to check purchases, unlock Pro and restore purchases. The app contacts RevenueCat when it starts, even if you never buy anything. The RevenueCat software in the app creates a random, anonymous app user ID that is not linked to your name or e-mail address. RevenueCat receives that ID, your purchase history for the app (products, dates, prices, currency and subscription status), the app version, your device type and operating system, and your IP address. On iPhone it also receives your device's tracking setting, which the app only reads and never changes. RevenueCat uses your IP address to work out your country and, according to its documentation, does not keep the address afterwards. We use this information to give you Pro, to prevent fraud and to understand sales in aggregate. RevenueCat acts as our processor under a data processing agreement and stores data on servers in the United States. See the RevenueCat Privacy Policy.
Importing a Google Doc
With Pro you can import a Google Doc by pasting its share link. The document must be shared as "Anyone with the link". The app then asks Google for the text of that document directly from your device, and Google sees that request, including your IP address, under the Google Privacy Policy. The request does not pass through Mobixify, the app does not sign in to your Google account, and we never receive the document.
App updates
The app can receive updates to its own code and images. When it starts, it may ask the update service of Expo (650 Industries, Inc.) whether a newer version is available. The request carries your IP address, your operating system (iOS or Android), the app's runtime version and update channel, and a random code that identifies this installation of the app. The code is not linked to your name or to any other app, and it is removed when you uninstall the app. If the app crashed the last time it ran, the request may also carry a short technical description of the error. The request contains none of your scripts, recordings or personal details. We use it only to deliver updates. Expo acts as our processor and may also use aggregated or de-identified data to improve its own services. See the Expo Privacy Policy.
If you write to us
If you write to us, we receive your e-mail address and what you tell us. We use them only to answer you. Our mailbox is hosted by Google Workspace.
Why we use information
UK data protection law needs a lawful basis for each use of personal data. The app's data is an anonymous app user ID, purchase records, technical details of your device and requests, and anything you write to us.
- Giving you Pro (checking, unlocking and restoring purchases): to carry out our contract with you.
- Preventing fraud and understanding sales in aggregate: our legitimate interests in protecting our income from purchase fraud and in knowing how the app sells. The data is limited to what is described above and you can object, see Your rights.
- Delivering app updates: our legitimate interest in keeping the app working and secure.
- Keeping accounts and meeting tax and legal duties: a legal obligation.
- Answering your messages: our legitimate interest in replying to you, or our contract with you when your message is about a purchase.
- Camera, microphone, photos and notifications: these stay on your device. You allow or refuse each permission yourself and can withdraw it at any time in your device settings.
The app sends the data described above automatically when it is online. The free app also works without a connection; then Pro cannot be checked, bought or restored and updates are not delivered. We make no decisions about you by automated means.
Children
The app is not directed at children under 13, and it does not ask for their name, e-mail address or any other personal details. The only information that leaves the device is the information described in this policy, which is handled in the same way for every user. If you are a parent or guardian and have a concern, write to us at info@mobixify.com.
How long information is kept
- On your device. Information stays there until you delete the script or take, or remove the app. Recordings that you saved to your photo library stay there until you delete them.
- At RevenueCat. RevenueCat sets no fixed deletion period for purchase records: they stay until we delete them. We keep a record while the app is on sale and for six years after that, the period in which a claim about a purchase can be brought and records may be needed for tax and accounting. We delete a record sooner if you ask and we no longer need it for those purposes.
- At Expo. Expo says it keeps update-request data only as long as reasonably necessary for its purposes.
- Messages to us. We keep them only as long as needed to answer you and deal with any follow-up, then delete them.
Security
Scripts and takes are kept in the app's private storage on your device. Connections from the app to Google, RevenueCat and Expo are encrypted.
International transfers
RevenueCat and Expo are based in the United States and process data there. The data we send them from the United Kingdom and the EU is protected by these safeguards:
- RevenueCat: the EU Standard Contractual Clauses and the UK Addendum to them, which are part of its data processing agreement.
- Expo: the Standard Contractual Clauses in its terms, and its participation, as it states, in the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and its UK Extension.
When you import a Google Doc, your own device contacts Google directly. You can ask us for a copy of the safeguards at info@mobixify.com.
Your rights
You can ask us for access to your personal data, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict its use, and to receive a copy of it in a portable format. Where we rely on legitimate interests, you can object at any time, and we will stop unless we have compelling grounds or need the data for legal claims. Apple and Google are separate controllers of the data they hold, so ask them about that data.
Because the app does not know who you are, we cannot look you up by name. Tell us the order number from your Apple or Google receipt, so that we can find the right record. We will reply within one month. For a complex request we may take up to two further months, and we will tell you why.
If you are not happy with our answer, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk. If you live in the EU or EEA, you can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Changes to this policy
If we change how the app handles information, we will update this page and its effective date, and we will say so in the app's release notes on the store when a change is material.
